Speed & Agility
What happens at a first SAQ session.

The hardest part of starting anything new is not knowing what you are walking into. Parents picture a first SAQ session and imagine their kid getting thrown into a workout with older athletes, timed in front of everybody, and judged on the spot. That is not what happens here, and it is not what should happen anywhere.
So let us walk you through it, start to finish, exactly as it works at Redline.
It starts free, and it starts easy
The first session is a free trial. You book the free trial, show up a few minutes early, and meet the coach who will run the session. Your child trains with a small group of kids around the same age. Wear normal training clothes and shoes that can move. That is the whole list of what you need.
Nobody gets singled out and nobody gets tested in front of a crowd. The first session runs like a normal session, because that is what you are really trying out: the normal experience your kid would have every week.
What the session looks like
A session opens with a warm up built around movement: skipping, lateral work, mobility, the body getting ready to move fast. Then comes the speed work, short sprints and starts with real rest between reps, while the legs are fresh. After that, agility and change of direction, taught and corrected as they go. The session finishes with strength work scaled to the age group, and a short finisher that sends kids out the door tired in the right way.
Through all of it, the group stays small enough that your child is coached as an individual, not processed as a number.
Sessions move through stations like these:
What the coaches are really watching
While your child trains, the coach is quietly doing an assessment. How does he start? How does she land? Which side is stronger when he cuts? Does she stop under control or slide through it? How does he take a correction?
This is the part that matters most, and it is the part most places skip. The first session tells us where your athlete stands right now, in plain terms. Not compared to some chart, and not compared to the kid next to him. Where he stands, and what the smartest next step is for him.
What happens after
After the session, we talk with you honestly. What we saw, what we would work on first, and how the program would run for your child. If your family wants the full picture of how our classes compare to others in the area, we wrote that out too, in what to look for in speed and agility classes in Fort Myers and Cape Coral. And if you are wondering how this work sits alongside team practice, that is the difference between SAQ and regular practice, in plain language.
The plan we build is for your athlete, from what we saw with our own eyes. You can see the structure of the Redline SAQ program on our site, but the plan itself starts with that first free hour on the turf.
