Speed & Agility
SAQ is not just for basketball: speed for soccer, football, and baseball players.

Because our building is known for basketball, parents of soccer, football, and baseball players sometimes assume speed and agility training here is not for their kid. It is worth clearing that up: speed does not belong to any one sport. A fast first step is a fast first step, whether it is beating a defender to a ball, getting out of a stance, or breaking out of a batter's box.
SAQ trains the movement underneath every sport. Wherever your kid plays, that movement is already deciding plays.
Soccer: the whole game is first steps
Soccer players change direction constantly, accelerate in short bursts hundreds of times a game, and spend much of it moving laterally or turning out of pressure. The players who look a step quicker are usually not covering more ground. They are starting faster, stopping cleaner, and cutting without that wide slow turn that gives a defender time to recover. That is trainable, and it is exactly what agility and acceleration work builds.
Football: acceleration wins early
Football speed is mostly acceleration. The first ten yards decide whether a running back gets through the hole, whether a receiver separates, whether a defender closes in time. Add the ability to plant and redirect without losing speed, plus the strength to run through contact and stay healthy through a season, and you have the football version of the same work.
Baseball: home to first, and the first step everywhere else
Baseball looks like a standing sport until it does not. Stealing a base, beating out a throw, a first step in the outfield, a catcher out of the crouch: all of it is acceleration from a dead stop, which is a skill almost nobody teaches baseball players. A quicker first step changes a player's whole game, on the bases and in the field. The mechanics are simple to teach and they carry over immediately.
Here is what a combined speed and strength block looks like in our facility:
And for kids who do not play a sport at all
One more thing, because parents ask: your child does not need to be on a team, or chasing a starting spot, to belong in this work. Plenty of kids just need to move. Running, jumping, playing, getting stronger and more coordinated: the benefit is not a roster spot, it is an active kid who feels good in his own body. Specializing early is not a requirement here, and honestly, for most kids it is not even a good idea.
There is one more honest point here. A kid does not have to pick a single sport at nine years old to justify getting faster and stronger. In fact, the kids who move the best in our building are often the ones who play a little of everything. Movement is the foundation. The sport on top of it can sort itself out later.
Our SAQ program at Redline Athletics Fort Myers trains athletes from every sport, in small groups, with the work aimed at how each kid actually moves in his game. It is the same standard we apply to our basketball players, and if you want the basketball version, speed training for young basketball players lays it out. Families comparing options can also read what to look for in speed and agility classes in Fort Myers and Cape Coral.

Whatever the sport, speed travels.
The first SAQ session at Redline is free for athletes in every sport. We watch how your kid moves and show you what we would build for his game.
